A recent survey showed that family photos were one of the top 5 things people would want to grab if their house was burning down.

Damage

Unfortunately there are many things can damage your precious photos. Direct sunlight, misuse, accidents, and tears or water & flood damage are just some of the ways a photo can degrade and require photo restoration.

Restoration

We can improve virtually any photo. So that, even if you think the photo is beyond repair, you may be pleasantly surprised at what can be achieved by PixelFIX photo restoration services.

30yr pic, really yellowed with time so wasnt hopeful for best results BUT WOW !! Amazing so returned with an even bigger challenge: 57yr pic, so dark, blurred image not a good pic from the start Flippin amazing - we were able to identify from the... background that the pic was actually taken top of Queen St, Aucks City back in the mid 40,s. 3rd time we used Pixel Fix was to resize digital images - service is prompt as always & pay system is so easy & hassle free - just what you need after a late nite at the office & trying to tick off stuff to do in your personal life, wish more services were this hassle free 🙂read more

I recently sent Richard a photo from 1939 which was slightly blurry and beginning to yellow. He did an amazing job of restoring the colour and sharpening the image. The quote was lower than anywhere else offered, and the work is of a higher... standard. He kept me informed of each step of the process; warm, but very professional. I look forward to sending more photos in future!read more

I came to Richard based on two factors: 1. The quality of the photos from his website and the miracles he seems to perform on them. 2. The reviews. You can trust everything we are all saying, work is first class and he does enhance and fix photos.... The consultation alone is eye opening in terms of what happens to old photos - the measle effect - and how they fade over time. Go to Richard, he will take care of what you treasure in your photos.read more

I was really impressed by Richard's work. I asked him to restore a low quality, shadowy photo I had taken of a page of handwritten text. Other restorers told me they might have trouble with the intensity of the shadows and working around the text... but Richard had no problem at all. I'm very happy with the result and would recommend to anyone.read more

How We Restore Photos

Photo restoration is a digital process. Where we take a physical photo and scan it to make a digital image. We can then use the latest professional software to skillfully restore the damaged areas in the photograph. This restored photograph can then be printed and displayed again as it was when first printed.

Although the restoration process is a digital one. It can take many hours to fully restore a photo. Because there are many small blemishes that are very visible once they are viewed on a screen. The tools we use to restore these blemishes, use existing information from good parts of the photo. Which are then copied and pasted on the top of the damaged areas.

Example

View the video to see how we copy from different areas to cover up the blemishes. Once the blemishes are restored we can then improve the contrast and clarity. returning the photo back to how it would have looked over 120 years ago when it was first printed
