Ripped Wedding Photo Restored

Ripped Wedding Photo Restored

This ripped wedding photo restored good as new. The ripped wedding photo was sent to us by Jaqui. Who was wanting to get a nice photo of her wedding from many years ago. The only photo she had was a small proof photo that had been damaged. It was ripped down the middle. It had several creased and some discolouring that also need to be restored.

The Photo Restoration

Using Photoshop I was able to restore this damage. the healing and stamp tools were used for most of the ripped area. the dress details were important so we needed to make sure it was pixel perfect in those detailed areas. The trickiest part was matching up the discoloured areas and darker shading in the lower half of the dress. I used a separate dodge and burn layer to slowly lighten up the selected areas. Once the damage was repaired the overall contrast and clarity was also given the PixelFIX treatment and the photo then started to come alive.

We printed out new copies of the restoration and the customer was very happy with the results. Leaving this great review on Google.

Positive: Professionalism
I had my wedding photos restored from being in a ripped state. Richard did an amazing job of fixing them. Far exceeded my expectations. They look as good as the day the pics were taken. Highly recommend his service.

Another Photo Restoration Time lapse

The Restoration

Its Friday again, this means we have another photo restoration time lapse video for you to enjoy. this was just one restoration out of 11 that I did for this customer to create a wonderful historic display. This was a challenging restoration of an old black and white photo. It was very small and very dirty. The quality of the photo means there is a shortage of details. Which makes the restoration a little difficult when trying to retain as much detail as possible whilst removing as much dirt and blemishes from the image. But the final result i think is very nice and a big improvement on the original.

Restoration of Silvering in Black and White Photos

Old Black and White Photos can sometimes suffer from a problem called silvering. As the chemical bonds in the photo breaks down over time. The silver in the photo becomes visible on the surface and is seen as a shiny pale haze that obscures the darkest parts of the photo.

If you have a photo that looks like this, don't worry. We can fix it. We can restore the lost details. Using Photoshop we can remove the haze and fading that the silvering has caused. Once restored these old precious photos can be printed & displayed and enjoyed again for many years to come.

Ask us today how we can help you restore your old black and photos.

Missing Pieces – Army Photo Restoration

Phil brought in this very poor condition photo that was missing pieces and in desperate need of restoration. The photo had faded and had missing pieces and large areas due to tears. Large team photos are always the most difficult to restore and take the most time due to the number of faces and detail in the photos.

Missing Pieces Restoration

The job of replacing the missing people was a big job and took many hours to fully repair. Using Photoshop to copy other areas of the photo and piece together the missing areas like a jigsaw puzzle. Luckily Phil didn't now remember any of the missing faces. The completed picture was then returned to its original black and white colour and printed ready for framing.

Restoration Team Effort

This isn't England after their semi-final match in the football World Cup. But it did need some restoration!. This is the Coromandel Rugby Club back in the last century, 1899 to be exact. Team photos are often sent to us for restoration. They are probably the most difficult to restore.

This is because of how many faces and how much detail need to be correct. If you smudge a tree in the background it may very well go unnoticed, but smudge somebody's eye in a team photo and everyone will notice the funny-looking guy that you just smudged. This one took a good 6 hours to restore and clean up. But looks very nice now, especially with its new framing and matt border.

The Beauty of Black and White

Sunlight can be a powerful destroyer of Black and White photos. It leads to fading and discolouration. This sad old photo was on its way to the ghostly 'faded photo bin'. But I was able to restore the fading and remove the discoloration to return this damaged photo back to its form glory. Black and white is such a beautify medium I think and this is a fine example of that. Barry was so please he ordered 3 copies with frames.

Hi Richard,

Payment made via internet banking just now. Yes you may use the images as an example if you wish to do so.

Looks fantastic!
